With a wealth of facilities, the Hotel Barcelo Fuerteventura Thalasso Spa is a chic and modern resort in Costa Caleta. It has both the beachfront and all the resort's attractions very close at hand.

This was our first visit to Barcelo Fuerteventura and sadly probably our last!
We paid for the coach transfers to and from the hotel with Thomas Cook and then found a taxi from the airport would have been cheaper.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly, but found one waiter took our drinks orders several times, never to be seen again!
The hotel itself was very clean, as was the pool area. Nice restaurant area, though we found the food very repetitive.
We didn't book any trips with Thomas Cook, but went on a coach trip with a tour operator in the nearby shops called Tourventura to Jandia, which was a lovely day out.
We were a little dissapointed that there were not many shops nearby and found ourselves visiting the same ones daily.
The entertainment at the hotel was rubbish, though we did find ourselves laughing, but sadly for all the wrong reasons! Couple of good professional shows, but for a hotel of this quality we expected better.
The rooms were spacious and the bed was massive and really comfy.
All in all, it was a relaxing break but glad we only booked one week.
did not recognise this hotel from comments given

We are about to go back to this Hotel in June (family of 10 6 adults and 4 children) for our second year. I have to say from some of the comments posted I did not think we had shared experience of staying in the same Hotel. We had a superb holiday here, so much so we booked again, and 10 of us going this year which includes the 6 of us who enjoyed a super holiday in the Hotel last July. The Reception was welcoming, explained about all inclusive which we were told by other guests was great value, so we opted to pay for this. We were informed about the beach towel service and infact anything we enquired about was answered with politeness and detail, including where to find local bus, island trips etc.
Our grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the kids club where they were well supervised by a nice team and our grandson especially who was 8 at the time, made friends with lots of children around his age all due to joining in the pool and various other games organised for them. Our son-in law also joined in the pool activities whilst my husband and I relaxed at the side of the pool taking an occasional dip to cool down. Our service was excellent and though all inclusive we did not feel we were treated differently, and hey thought the Scots were meant to be mean, not us, alll inclusive or not what is a small tip to the nice waiters who took our order for drinks and brought them to our table. The entertainment was reasonably good and if some folks think it awful all I can say is you have not experienced some of the other Hotels that we have. Our food was hot, breakfasts cooked in front of you, so a nice hot fried egg or omelette, salad bar was one of the best we have encountered and kids were happy with their lot. I like my daughter are veggie's and we always found the pasta to be well cooked, not soggy. We had lovely large rooms, certainly better for most of families of 4 than many Hotel,s room service was excellent. All I can say is we look forward to our visit in June, if its disappointing after last year I shall report back.
No kids? All inclusive? Don't go here!

We recently stayed here and overall had a good holiday. Nice pool area, good location right on beach and plenty of sunloungers. We previously stayed at another Barcelo hotel also 4* and I have to say that this hotel was not as good as the one we stayed at in Tenerife ... it didn't seem to have that personal touch.
I was not happy that there was no mattress cover or undersheet - the sheet went straight onto the mattress which I felt was unhygienic and uncomfortable. The kids entertainment went on until 9.45 pm and then the adult entertainment, which obviously all the kids stayed to watch, was rubbish. Basically Butlins or Pontins, type of stuff. But the main problem was there was nowhere to go to escape the entertainment ... no quiet area, except for an outside bar which did get chilly in the evening as this island is breezy at the best of times. If you ever go there, you will see that the reception area is huge and the reps area large also, especially seeing as Thomson reps did not visit at all, not even for a welcoming party. A total waste of space which could be converted into a quiet coffee or drinking area for guests not wanting to hear the entertainment.
Food was very much the same day in day out. But watch out .... if you are all inclusive ... you are treated as a second class citizen by the bar staff. Yes, you guessed it, it's because they don't get tips. You sit and you wait and wait until they decide to serve you and barman J Ramon is the worst. Infact, one night a guest complained that he had asked 3 times to be served and was ignored. The guest was shouted at and had his drink taken back from him. J Ramon you should be ashamed of yourself ... you are there to provide a service to the guests and that is what you are paid for, tips or no tips.
Basically we had a good holiday because we needed a break but were disappointed that this hotel did not match up to the one we stayed at in Tenerife.

on arrival the hotel is very impressive the rooms spacious and clean the poolarea and grounds are exellent but that is were it stops myself and my brothers familey (partner and my 18mth nephew)stayed for two wks between nov7- nov 21 2007 the food that was served for evening meals consisted of soggy pasta choice of two hot dog chicken nuggets no selection of cold meats to make a salad a fish stew that people refused to eat and bread buns this was the choice for 4 of the days over the fortnight other evenings if you were lucky you might catch the one container of soup for the evening other other items that were on the menu included meat stew more fish stew dishes . the breakfasts were also shocking cold eggs cold bacon lack of fresh fruit . when you asked for some hot food to be brought out the staff were rude and took no notice . i spoke to many people around the pool about the food which should be top class as this is a four star hotel and they all agreed that it was rubbish the thomas cook rep would not speak to the guests when complaintd were put to him saying he did not have the time he also failed to hand in at least 10 complaint forms to thomas cook as i am still arguing with thomas cook over this matter as we refused to eat meals in the hotel as they were disgusting. if these matters could be put right this hotel would be a four star hotel

We had our second visit to this hotel in the December of 2004, our first being March 2003. The Marche visit was obviously a great experience otherwise we would not have returne. Must admit our first visit was enhanced by Jenny and Martoine on the entertainment team, we do not normally bother but we just couldn't resist this pair.
The hotel was clean, service good, food good, and yes you do get the same types of food, but this is a large catering establishment and if you want a'la carte every day then pay more, but the food was very good and loads of it.
Entertainment on both visits was good, the night starts with the obligatory kiddies disco, which is entertaining in itself, then goes on to either the show by the animation team or professional acts brought in.
Calete de fuste is a quiet resort so most things are hotel based.
Alison Hoyte said, "In our opinion this hotel was really good and worth its money. We went All Inclusive for 9 nights. Cleanlinees, staff, food all were good.
