Holiday Review
Just returned from the Barcelo Santiago. A 2 week stay of both fun and relaxing. The hotel welcomed us with a glass of champagne upon arrival- made us forget our hour extra added on to our flight. Room was good and although not sea facing it was good to see how the locals go about their day. We felt welcomed by all staff and felt at ease. The surrounding area is both stunning and very easy to get around- lots of photo opportunities.
Quality
The hotel was very clean and maids were very thorough in the cleaning of our room through our stay.
Service
The waiters/waitresses in the restaurant and bars worked extremely hard in fulfilling everyones needs- look out for Miguel, Juan Ramone, Max, Elvi, Javier and Yerman in the bars. They are very funny and always had time to talk and get to know us. Within the first week of our 2 week stay we felt we were with friends!
We did have a slight problem with our room on the second day- a leaking water pipe in the bathroom. As soon as I reported it to the reception, it was sorted by a room change and chocs and wine put in to our new room. No matter what time of the day you passed staff they all spoke and smiled- even those behind the scenes
Location
The location is stunning cliffs, rocks and beautiful clear blue sea all around us. We walked into Los Gigantes a good few times and it was a pleasure to walk arond the small port there.
Food
The food standard was good- especially the freshly cooked bacon and eggs in the mornings! Lots of choice at meal times and freshly cooked meats and fish as you waited. Some good themed nights in the restaurant- chinese one being a particular favourite. ( look out for the waiter in the restaurant who looks like Ronaldo- quite dishy)
Entertainment
The entertainment team worked well through the day and evening. They all spoke spanish, english, french and german between the five of them. It did mean some things took longer to get started, however it did mean we could understand what was going on. Some professional shows were bought in to the hotel in the evenings- the chinese acrobats being a real favourite

We went here to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday last year. We loved everything about it. It was away from a beach, but walking distance to it and had a fab view out to sea. All clean, welcoming, friendly and if you didn't want to listen to the entertainment then there was plenty of areas to escape to.
Food was excellent and well presented. Views of the sunset from the restaurant was great! The pool area had stunning views out to sea with glass panels to shield you from the breeze while sunbathing.
We would definitely go there again!

Just back from a week at barcelo santiago and will definitely go back. The hotel was very clean and modern and the location is absolutely stunning. you must opt for a sea view, also brilliant sun sets from our balcony. Terraces and infinity pool are perched on the coast overlooking the sea and the los gigantes cliffs and the views are amazing. Good mix of ages in the hotel and the entertainment was good but if you want some great live music visit route 66 over the road. Amazing duo 'Old Dogs New Tricks'. The food was very good and the bacon and eggs were the best we have ever had, real crispy bacon. Not a hotel for you if you want a lively holiday but if like us you appreciate good wine, good company and stunning surroundings with a bit of rock music over the road, then this is for you.
