i have used this hotel for the past 7 years, it is fantastic. it is right opposite the nile, over on the west bank is the valley of the kings,a local taxi will take you, there are great restaurants over there, which we do every year, just a small ferry ride across the river, the hotel is situated in the heart of luxor, 3minute walk away from luxor museun, in the opposite direction the local bazaar, further down the road on the nile side is the mummyforcation museum which is a must, if you want to do any organised trips i advise you to walk down to the old winter palace hotel close by is a lovely tour operator, called mr jollies, ther trip prices are the best around, while at the old winter palace go in have a look around, we went there last year for an evening meal it was fabulous, app;e pie and custard for afters, brilliant. at the mercure the staff are really helpful and friendly. im going back the in 5 weeks time. cant wait.
