The Mercure Inn, formerly called the Mercure Egotel, is a little hotel set in the heart of Luxor, just to the rear of the famous Luxor Temple. It serves as en excellent base for exploring the famous and ancient sights of Luxor, as well as for perusing its kaleidoscopic bazaars. Once you've finished your shopping and sightseeing, you can relax and discuss your bargaining successes in the reception-lounge, or cool off with a swim in the hotel's own pool.
The Mecure Inn is perfect for those wanting to take in the fantastic sights on offer in Egypt and to take advantage of a central location. A cosy starting point for sightseeing, with good standards of accommodation.

I visited this hotel by myself, and found the staff very friendly and helpful.
I was only on b&b, but the snack bar in the lobby was great, and as the temperature was in the high 40s, I was thirsty more than hungry. (room service was great, and cheap too)
The pool is only small, but big enough to keep cool in. Snacks and drinks by the pool very handy.
Great location right by the temple, and Mcdonalds (very cheap). Ideal for walking along the corniche, and handy for afternoon tea in the Winter Palace, or a felluca ride on the Nile.
Get out, walk about and soak up the atmosphere.
I have visited Egypt several times, and when you get used to dealing with the hassle, it the most amazing Country.
Luxor, The Valley of the Kings, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Cairo and the Red Sea. The History, the culture, the fantastic coral reefs, prepare to be amazed!
I met some very nice people here, and would stay there again.
Not the most luxurious hotel, but not bad for the price.
