Sharm El Sheikh Holiday Reviews

A modern hotel situated 700 metres from the beach in Naama Bay, the Sharm Holiday Resort offers a great location for easy access to the main beach and night life. It also offers a regular free shuttle bus to the beach in the day and also a couple of times into Naama Bay in the evening.

Sometimes people need to be more open minded when visiting foreign countries. First of all when we arrived in Sharm we caught a cab from the airport which unfortunately ripped us off as on our return we paid £5 but coming we paid £20. This has to be the worst point of the holiday, as you feel you have little choice but to pay as all of them give the same price.

Now that thats out of the way my partner and I are aged 24 and 26 and had a great time, you need to be careful about the food you eat and the water, but don't you in most countries??? We made some great friends out there and I am going back in July. The centre of Sharm is a 5min walk away meaning your not stuck in the hotel at night and don't have to fork out loads on taxis. The rooms are good, clean, comfy and with satelite tv isn't that all you need on holiday? There were people moaning about the food but if your a fussy eater dnt go all inclusive coz TGI Fridays, Mc d's, Kfc etc are a stone throw away. Ignore the other reviews be careful with the water and you'll have a great time!

Also the excursions are great and we found that we were able to get them a lot cheaper than our Tour operator was offering. All excursions are booked through the same offices so rest assured even if you buy them in Naama bay you'll be getting the same deal as you would if you bought them in the hotel.

The people out there really loved us I think particularly because we were friendly, as most of their tourists are otherwise. We even had some take us out for drinks etc.

Sharm Holiday Resort is a good place to visit and is unfairly represented by narrow minde people.

This was the worst hotel I have ever been to… And I must say that it doesn’t qualify for 4*. I would say it is a 2+!
I will try to criticize constructively and I have a lot to tell you…

    1. Customer service is absolutely horrible! When you go on a holiday you obviously expect staff to be friendly and want to feel safe, don’t you? So expect them to be impolite, bothering you all the time, rude and unprofessional. AND IT IS NOT SAFE “WOMEN-WISE”. As I was attacked by a service man in my own room! The manager of the hotel didn’t seem to be surprised when I went to complain all embarrassed! So I presume it happens there regularly….
    2. Food was too oily, but that I guess something to do with Egyptian way to cook, not the Hotel.. We went to the sea food restaurant - Ali Baba(It was okey) and ordered prawns and calamari grilled, but they put too much oil on it still , so here are some tips: BEFORE ORDERING ANY FOOD IN THE RESTAURANT –MAKE THEM SHOW YOU THE FISH BEFORE THAY COOK IT AND DO ASK THEM NOT TO PUT too much OIL!
    3. Egypt is marvellous… but you need to live on the sea cost and in 5*! The purpose of my review is to let you know that it is extremely important that you live in safe surroundings with good people who can provide good Customer service- which you wont get in BLOODY SHARM HOLIDAY!

I wish you a great holiday and I advice to choose more safe hotel!

    Not recommended!!!

Our stay at the sharm holiday was not fun and i strongly recommend anyone thinking of going there to think again. The lady who booked our holiday said it wasn't the best hotel but we decided to go for the cheapest option which was a big mistake. The food was totally inedible and we ended up spending a fortune eating out. We could of had a luxury 5* holiday in mexico for what we ended up spending. To be fair our room was fine but the guy on reception asked for a
£15 tip for giving us that room! When we refused he was really rude to us for the rest of the holiday and very unhelpful. Then the one time we went to the pool bar for a snack all there was was a few horrid cold sausages in a bit of foil and a couple of dry buns. Then we got continually harrased by the pool guys that were selling massages and papers. We knew it would be abit like that in Namma Bay but we didnt expect to get hounded in our own hotel. We really couldnt relax so we ended up on the beach every day which was another disaster because the bit of private beach the hotel owns was filthy with ciggerette butts and glass on the ground and wasnt big enough so we ended up having to wait half an hour to get a bed then the music was so loud even the sound of an ipod couldn't drown it out. In the end we had to pay another hotel so we could use their beach everyday. Then the switch in our hotel room blew a fuse and it took the guy 20 minutes to come and fix it meanwhile we were sitting in the dark and got no apology in fact he acted like it was our fault! I could go on with alcohol running out, having to pay for fresh orange juice, no wine, our airport driver texting in his mobile while driving like a loon but i think you get the picture!!! If you want a nice relaxing holiday i really wouldnt stay here. Quite frankley i'm pleased to be home!!!

We stayed in Sharm Cliff hotel in January. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The rooms were cleaned every day, with clean white soft towels daily, and clean sheets four times a week. The boys who cleaned the rooms were gorgeous. Young, polite, and very helpful. They used towels to make fans, swans, various shapes, to leave on our beds with fresh flowers!
The entire hotel was spotless. The staff were all helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Such a good hotel keeps the customers happy, which showed.
It was not warm enough in January to swim in the pool, or to sit outside to watch the mediocre entertainment. But there is plenty of that in the town, just down the steps or on the free bus.
Following an accident I was treated like royalty, with meals brought to our room, assistance with steps. The manager even arranged for the hotel minibus to take me to hospital and back. The doctor, a lovely man, came in to see me three times with loads of different types of pain killers, and to see how I was. He sat with me and talked about his family.
I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel, and if you meet Ahmed who cleans some of the rooms, give him my love. (He is 19. I am a pensioner!!!)_
The food is average for a Muslim country - beef, chicken or fish. But they cook it in such a variety of ways it doesn't look repetative.
The organised trips are fascinating. But do NOT book them at the market. If they don't turn up you have to pay £3 each way for a taxi to go and sort them out! Best go to the beach on the hotel's free bus.
We are definitely going again later this year.

you travel through fast track holidays

Our stay at sharm el sheik holiday resort was advertized by fast track as 4* all inclusive, many restuarants pools bars etc.. own beach everything sounded perfect. It was to be the stay part of a cruise and stay. Cruise was perfect with Thompsons Celebration. Many of us arrived together at hotel for stay, first thing to happen chaos at reception. Very grumpy not helpful reception staff unable to match rooms to vouchers etc... arrived at 12noon finally got our room at 3.45pm after being asked to go and have lunch wait around etc several times. We had to queue again every time we came back and only got our rooms after refusing to leave desk.

All inclusive it turned out meant we could drink either rum, whiskey, vodka or gin from paper cups around the pool bar but not in the hotel socalled cocktail bar. And requests for a glass of wine were met by "sorry thats extra" not all inclusive.

On to the pool bars . The furniture around them looked as though it was at least 30 years old not comfortable, very tired looking. when we asked if we could have water for our rooms that too was extra. water was available again in paper cups from a dispenser around the pool.

The main restuarant had obviously recently had some building work as areas of wet plaster where draped with what looked like sheets. One holiday maker asked if they were tryng to recreate a beduin tent effect. The doors to the kitchen were sited right next to the entrance to the toilets which was a bit disconcerting we look photos as we found it hard to believe what we were seeing in a so called 4*/hotel. The food was poor the best was usually whatever they were cooking fresh for you but oviously a large queue built up around the one person cooking for all!!

The staff would appear from the kitchen in garments that looked so grey they looked as though they may have been wearing them for some time. They all seemed totally uninterested in the customers they were required to look after.

The greyness also was to be found in our room, the sheets on our bed and towels in bathroom although washed were so grey we began to wonder if that was the colour they were supposed to be again we took photos of them alongside a white shirt to show difference !!

As to the You travel representative and his help !! There is nothing good I can say he was of no help. We had to phone our office at home and get them to contact fast track on our and other peoples behalf.

    VERY DISAPOINTING !!!
