The buildings of Cape Panwa hotel are spread down the hillside leading to the sandy beach below. There is a free tram from the main pool area to the beach, running through the well-kept gardens. By the beach sits a popular beach bar and a second swimming pool; guests can recline on the sands and enjoy the great vistas out to Koh Lon island.
Cape Panwa is on the south eastern tip of Phuket Island, on a hilltop with panoramic views of the Andaman Sea, which has many small islands in its clear waters. The hotel is proud to have provided a holiday getaway for many famous statesmen and celebrities, including movie stars filming nearby. Pierce Brosnan, Leonardo di Caprio and Catherine Zeta Jones have all been here. Cape Panwa is committed to being an environmentally responsible hotel, providing a comfortable, high-quality experience for guests whilst respecting nature and the beautiful surroundings.
The hotel lies on the island's sheltered south-eastern point, in a secluded location in Panwa Bay. A bus service runs to Phuket town and Patong Beach with a small charge, and Phuket town is a twenty-minute drive away.

Holiday Review
We first went to Cape Panwa in September 2007 having been let down by a hotel in Krabbi. It was the best thing that ever happened. That visit was for 4 weeks. It was so good we returned same time last year and took our Elder Son and his Wife for 2 of the 4 weeks. They loved it and said the snorkling was better than the Red Sea!. We have booked a month again this year.
There is something about the hotel that makes people go back year after year. We have met people on the 16th visit.
The hotel has its own private beach only accessable by land through the hotel.
The hotel and its Sister hotel, Kantarri Bay offer a total of 5 resturants offering a wide range from Italian, French, Thai Seafood and the main resturant that has themed buffets and barbegues.
We always upgrade to a jaccuzzi suite, I suggest doing this direct and not via your tour operator.
Going as we do in low season we get 2 nights or the price of one.
My Wife was 70 last year so I treated her to a full day in their spa, she loved it. She had her own room and attendant for the whole day.
many famous people such as Liz Tayor and Cathrine zeta jones have stayed there.
Quality
We are heading for our 3rd month there this September, enough said
Service
We find everything super, If you take the trouble to get to know the staff you get so much more out of your holiday (this is true all over the world). We are now greeted as returning family.
Finger clicking customers do not know what they are missing
The hotel passes ALL of the service charge to the staff and this shows in the interest they take.
The hotel also keeps staff fully informed about who and how many people are coming.
Location
On the quiet side of the island of Phuket on the Anderman sea. Much safer than the other side on the Indian Ocean with regular drownings.
Beautiful beach.
No clubs, gogo bars etc so no lager louts or bimbos
Food
Wide range.
Set meal costs the same in any of the restuarants
Entertainment
a little off season. may be more high season.
You can get married or renew vows there.

We have just come back from Cape Panwa and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday there. The facilities were great my children enjoyed Batik Painting and even got to learn Scuba Diving in the hotel pool for free. The food was lovely and lots of choice for all. My husband and I enjoyed our Thai meal at Cape Panwa house on the beach. Such a beautiful setting. The beach is private and there is a little pier that you can walk down. My son and I saw lots of fish swimming here and crabs fighting for places on the rocks. It is difficult to go in the sea at low tide but the hotel very kindly provide you with a schedule of tide times and when it will be best to swim. We found this very useful as we could plan our day by it. The weather was a bit rainy as they were just coming out of the rainy season but most afternoons were sunny. We would definitely go there again. It is very difficult to find a hotel in Asia that has a family room but this one does and it was large enough for the four of us and of course it made it cheaper to stay. The staff were incrdibly friendly and helpful and there were several trips to do such as island hopping and diving. We can recommend the scuba girl Born from Sea Bees diving who took lessons in the pool. We went diving with her the next day and my children thought it was amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone unless you like a busy nightlife as there is only quiet music at night. They did have a show one night which was highly entertaining fire dancing. You just have to go and see for yourselves.
