The Sandals Royal Hicacos Resort and Spa benefits from one of the best locations on Varadero Beach in the province of Matanzas. Guests here can benefit from a wide selection of activities and sports, as well as three pools, four whirlpool baths and a swim up bar, allowing guests to indulge in a little pampering during their stay. There are fabulously envigorating spa and fitness facilities here to enjoy. Guests should not that romantic couples over the age of eighteen only are accepted at this hotel.

We arrived at the Sandals Hicacos and loved the set up as soon as we saw it. We were given some sparkling wine while we waited for our room keys and welcome pack. Shortly we were shown to our room which was fantastic. The room had a huge bed, living area, huge bath mini bar and this was all standard!! The room was very clean with air conditioning and excellent maid service, however you do get bothered by the mosquito"™s we don"™t normally but we did in Cuba so make sure you take some insect repellent.
There were 5 restaurants our favourite was the fish and Italian. The buffet restaurant was just ok if I had to complain about this Hotel it would be that the food in the main buffet restaurant let it down however it is like that all over Cuba I believe"¦..the food has to be imported but the selection is still good.
The bars were well stocked with everything you could want, the piano bar being our favourite. The nightclub was just ok it was open till 3am but we never really went in we preferred to stay in the piano bar and listen to the pianist playing or listen to the live band and singers in the lobby bar.
The pool and beach were perfect we used to alternate every day and you could always find a sun lounger what ever time you got up!!
Cuba is perfect the people are lovely, we booked our holiday over the internet at ulookubook.com which we would recommend we feel as though we got a good deal and I would defiantly stay at this hotel again.
