Hi we have just returned from 2 weeks holiday in Cuba. It was really enjoyable. You have to remember it is a third world country so some of the hotels on the tour were a little tired but very clean and the staff were friendy. If you are interested in the time warp go now before too many changes are visable. The history and artifacts are amazing not at all what I expected, the tour guide Tony gave us a detailed vision of life in Cuba for the locals including a vist to a hairdressers and a ration shop yes the food is rationed for the locals. If you just want a beach holiday to relax in an tropical country where you feel safe walking outside the hotel this has got to be it. We went to the Tryp Pennisular in Varadaroo it was a very nice hotel with good staff good food interesting entertainment in the liberal sense but beware of the mosquitos this time of year. We were okay until it rained then they made a feast of us. If you go on the tour take soap and pens the locals all ask for soupa or esciba because for them to buy it is really expensive.
