The Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus is a wonderfully tropical place to stay, with palm trees and flamingos, as well as an amazing beach front location. The beach here is fantastic, with powdery white sands and delicious turquoise seas. The warm shallows are the perfect spot for relaxing in the sun; guests can enjoy refreshment at the beach bar, which is styled like a lighthouse in striking black and white stripes, making this a stylish place to sip on a fruity cocktail and look out at the waters. There are also three lovley swimming pools here, as well as a fabulous whirlpool bath to unwind in. For those looking to try something a little more active, archery is available here, as is water polo, beach football, and salsa lessons. The cuisine here is as wonderful as the location, with an array of different flavours for guests to choose from. There is a Mexican restaurant, a Japanese restaurant, a hearty steakhouse and plenty of buffets. Guests looking for something a little different can reserve a table at the chic a la carte restaurant here. After a delicious evening meal, guests can watch the singing and dancing in our entertaining shows, or dance the night away at the disco. There is even a mini-disco for the kids, ensuring all have a great time here. Those with children will be pleased to find a hotel-run kids' club here, as well as a playground. For a great all-rounder of a holiday, come to the Hacienda Dominicus for some wonderful hospitality, amazing cuisine and an excellent location.

My wife and myself stayed here in Oct 2007. It was our first visit to the Carribean and after many hours trawling through review websites we decided to book the IHD in Bayahibe. I believe it was the best choice we could have made. We both honestly believe that we could not have chosen any better and it provided us with everything we were looking for in a relaxing beach holoday. We booked through Eclipse Direct which is the internet trading name for First Choice Holiday but its cheaper, Could not fault the service provided by First Choice including day before check in and extra leg room on the flights from Gatwick. The hotel was spotless and the staff could not do enough for you. The food was excellent especially in the gourmet restaurants that you had to book in advance. I would strongly reccomend the PADI dive center that forms part of the hotel as the caring and very professional instructors guided me through an Open water scuba course and this proved to be the highlight of my holiday. The room was large and air conditioned, a godsend during the very hot and sticky nights, and was serviced daily and to a high standard. A mini bar is provided in the room stocked with water, beer and soft drinks and if you left the maid $2 per day she would restock it daily. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept with peacocks and other wild birds roaming around them and various water features and bronze statues dotted throughout the grounds. We went on just two excursions while we were there Monster Trucks and a Speedboat Safari where you captain your own 2 seater speedboat and travel in convoy through the crystal clear Carribean sea and up the Chavron river both come highly reccommended. Overall as you can probably guess i would not hesitate to return as it was very nearly the perfect holiday and the weather was great, only 1 afternoon of heavy rain which lasted about 1 hour. No stomach aches or illness. No problems while traveling on our own into the local village of Bayahibe. The only slight annoyance was that the key card for our room kept losing its program for about 3 days on the trot and and we kept having to have it reprogramed. On the 4th Day they changed our door lock and left us a bottle of champagne and 2 branded Iberostar polo shirts with a card saying Sorry for any inconvienience. Book this hotel you will not be dissappointed.
