The Riu chain has a great reputation and the Bachata is no exception to this, benefiting from the fantastic service and accommodation the hotels are known for. The hotel also boasts many different facilities for the sporty guest, with a gym available for a workout, some volleyball on offer and pool tables. If you fancy a bit of watersports then windsurfing and sailing are amongst the options. The less sporty guests are also catered for of course, with the hotel's own spa and plenty of space to relax in the gorgeous Caribbean sunshine. By night the hotel offers its own discotheque, Pacha, as well as a lounge and bars on the terrace. Some fine dining is also on offer in the resort.
The calm and beautiful surroundings of this hotel provide you with the opportunity to totally relax and unwind. The sandy shores and clear blue waters provide a brilliant backdrop for whatever you choose to do on holiday, be it relaxing or something more active.
The hotel is right on the beach in the Bay of Maimon. It is surrounded by tropical landscaped gardens. Another hotel in the chain is just opposite with a cultural Caribbean street between.

We found this place to be everything that we wanted in a holiday destination. The complex was always clean and staff were excellent.
The hotel was situated close to the beach with an excellent swimming pool, there was enough shade and open space for sunbathers and shade seekers alike.
During the evening the entertainment varied from shows put on by the staff and shows by local entertainment.
The one show that stands out for us was the Michael Jackson Show. This show was excellent and the hall was packed out with people trying hard to get seats at the front as the effects and talent of the dancers was second to none.
The lead dancer had the dance moves down to a T.
The facilities at the hotel were excellent with a choice of three different eating establishments to try in the evening with an Italian, stakehouse and main restaurant providing local and european food.
On the beach you had a wide variety of sports which are included in your all inclusive package such as snorking, peddlers ect.. but you also have the option of paying for water sports such as diving, powerboat etc...
There are also several trips out that you can pay for but a warning if you are not good in the sun then the Pleasure Island is not for you as there is no shade available and you will be out in the sun all day.
The other trip to be warned about is the Monster Trucks as you get taken to a local village and into a school. You are requested to part with a lot of cash on this holiday as several reference is made to the local economy and how little families have. This is fair enough but not from the start of the trip to the end of the trip. You don't mind giving but whith the trip cost and all the money you end up giving the trip then becomes an expensive one, so watch out for this one!!!
However there are many trips available which are good value for money.
The only let down to the holdiay which I can say is the Thompson Rep did not provide you with all the information you needed but was only interested in selling the trips. With the after care service not being up to the usual high standards of Thompson.
But the holiday destination and the excellent staff at the hotel more than made up for the one flaw.
Highly recommend this holiday to single couples and family as there is enough for all to enjoy.
