Riu Cancun benefits from a stunningly breathtaking location right on a soft, sandy beach that overlooks the clear, warm waters of the Caribbean Sea.
This accommodation has an impressive amount to offer its guests, from specialist restaurants and family shows to a vast array of sports options. The hotel's amazingly modern facilities make this a great place to stay, and guests can also play golf on local courses, available at extra charge. There are a variety of watersports on offer, making this ideal for sporty families and action lovers. For those seeking to enjoy a relaxing holiday with good cuisine, the Riu Cancun has all that is needed for a laid-back getaway.
This beachfront hotel benefits from a prime location in the centre of the resort, and is directly opposite the Mayfair and Caracol shopping centres. The shopping area is twenty metres away, whilst the vibrant nightlife of Cancun is a kilometre away.

This was our third holiday to Cancun, having previously stayed at the Hyatt on la Punta (which was just fab). We were told this was a 5* but frankly it's not. It's looking a little tired now - certainly needs a refurb I would say. As always in Mexico in our experience, the staff were fabulous. The problem came from the other punters. Mainly very, very rowdy Americans and Canadians, who drank themselves to oblivion then made tons and tons of noise to the point you couldn't hear yourself think, let alone enjoy an afternoon by the pool. On the first day, one American guy threw up in the pool after getting sloshed, then proceeded to order a Mexican to clean it up! The hotel entertainment is just ok. Nothing better. The worst thing is that because the hotel is so tall, you only get the sun for half the day, cos then the pool area is in shade for hours until the next day. This was quite a disapponitment. The food was very good, except for the Brazilian (or was it Argentinian?) restaurant...the steak was not very good at all. All in all, the hotel is fine, and for the money it represents decent value. But don't go there expecting the experience of a lifetime, cos certainly during the day by the pool, it's more like an 18-30. I do wish the hotel staff had been more vigilant about the Americans waking everyone else up at 4am when they're coming back from the nightclubs. It's a good enough hotel, but paradise it ain't.

this was our second holiday to cancun but the first to this hotel. We previously stayed at the Riu Caribe hotel which was very good but wasnt in the same class as the Riu Cancun. the hotel has very good and varied food in the four restuarants. the rooms are comfortable with fantastic views over the sea. the hotel is ideally situated next to all the nightlife but you cant hear any noise in the hotel. This is definately a holiday of a lifetime.
