Getting About
There is a train service from Zell am See to Kitzbühel, Salzburg and Bad Gastein. There is also an excellent local bus service running, and for a less conventional way of getting around in the summer, there is a choice of lifts.

The lake at Zell is a popular location for walkers, and many walk half way and take a boat back. Another option is to take the bus to Kaprun and follow valley paths along the riverside. Here you will enjoy amazingl views of the Hohe Tauern National Park mountains.
Ramblers
After taking the summer lift from Zell am See up into the mountains you'll find a network of marked walking routes. It is possible to purchase a walkers' lift pass which is available locally. You will also find a wealth of traditional mountain huts to stop in for light refreshment or a bite to eat along the way!
Hikers
For those among you who want to complete a more challenging walk, you can follow the Pinzgauweg over the mountains to Saalbach. There is also the option of some challenging walking in the National Park. Finally, the ridge from the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier back to Kaprun is not only a memorable route but is also set in magnificent scenery.
