Holiday Review
Hotel is good for 3*, accomodation is excellent and spotlessly clean, guesthouse and other annexe's are 200 metrs from main hotel. Herbert (owner) is quirky and can appear abrupt, but you get used to his attitude. Checking in is time consuming as Herbi is not into PC's and its al done on sheets paper with names and room numbers, sometimes they don't match, result, where does he put you.
Food is good, typical continental breakfast and dinner we always found wholesome and tasty.
Rooms are spotless. Some dated but always warm as toast.
Facilities, swimming pool, sauna are really good.
Would we go back, a definate yes.
Service
Staff are rushed off their feet, but we always found them friendly and helpful and yes they will do fish fingers and chicken nuggets with chips for the kids, all you need to do is ask.
Some people we noted wanted 5* luxury at 3* prices and complained for the sake of complaining, if you are rude to the staff don't expect it will not be returned in kind.
Location
Little out of town, add 200 metres to the 500 metres the holiday companies state, so it can be a trek getting into town centre and the ski schools and a long walk home after a days skiing, bus stops outside the hotel (free) and same on return, expect to wait 30 minutes if you just missed the bus.
There are 2 lifts directly opposite the hotel, 1 poma that serves a green nursery slope opposite the hotel and a T bar that goes up to the bottom of run 23 (not for the fainthearted).
However if you take the poma, you join the bottom of run 23 and can ski across to the Gondola and nursery slopes in the centre of town. returning take the second poma ski across the top of the slope and there is a track that brings you back within 50 metres of the hotel or take the free bus.
Food
Breakfast is normal continental cereals, rolls, toast, cheese, cold meats with boiled eggs and bacon (some days). Order your choice of dinner main course at breakfast. Seating is allocated by the woner (Herbert), generally 6 to a table, if you get friends as we did for the week it was great as we all got on really well and we had great conversations.
We found the food really good over the week, but be warned the Austrian's salt their food certainly more than we do in the UK.
Yes they will do kids meals, chicken nuggets and fish fingers etc with chips.
One thing for sure is that you won't comlain about the food quality or the volume, so you won't go hungry.
Entertainment
Bar and a stuble, Herbert plays the harp on Wednesdays if your into this.
