Located on the snowy peaks of the Tauren range, Obertauren is Austria's only purpose-built ski resort. Its unique structure allows visitors to ski almost from the doorstep of their chalet-style accommodation. The natural beauty of the local area is accentuated by the unique structure of the ski lifts which fan out in all directions, allowing skiers to enjoy custom-made natural circuits.
The resort boasts an excellent snow record and a varied terrain, suitable for experts and beginners alike. An array of activities is available off the slopes, including sporting facilities for bowling, squash and indoor tennis, a fitness center ,massage parlor,and night skiing. Those, looking for a more extreme skiing experience are welcome to sample night skiing and off-piste (weather conditions permitting). Children can enjoy a wide range of ski tuition, suitable for all age groups and abilities. There is also a ski kindergraten, suitable for 3-6 year olds. There is also free boot hire for one child of up to 10 years of age when an adult pre-books the same.
For the apres ski entertainment, the resort provides a choice of bars, restaurants and a club. There is even a Monkey circus for the younger visitors. 6 results were found. The local tourist board operates the Petzibär' kindergarten for 3-6 year olds . Lunchtime supervision is provided at a small fee with lunch included. The Hotel boasts great facilities ,currently it offers a massage and solarium(at a extra charge),a childrens playroom,free access to the internet ,and a bar/ lounge to enjoy a drink of an evening, there is a wine cellar and the new edition of a new 300m2 spa and wellness area ,with stone grotto,2 sauna's,relaxation area,infra red cabin,steam room and a fitness room,will soon be ready to use.The Petersbuhel is also creating new bedrooms,new reception and a extension on the restaurant.
Meals at the hotel are superb with a wholesome hot and cold buffet,4 course evening meal with choice of main course, a daily salad buffet,and cheese buffet.Not to be missed is the weekly Italian buffet and christmas and New Year Gala Dinner.
