St Anton is the perfect getaway for those who enjoy fun and active holidays. The village is home to some of Austria's best hotels, and has a main street packed with restaurants and a lovely selection of bars. St. Anton certainly is a liitle treasure hidden away!

For a gentle stroll,you can take a slow walk to the Ferwall Reservoir ,following along the Rosanna Gorge, and for a display of the brightly coloured meadows follow the paths of the Sonnenwag and Jakobweg. For ramblers, there are a wide range of delightful walks to the Tritschalpe, Rendlalp, Putzenalp and to the Konstanzerhutte. For the hikers looking for something a bit more adventurous there is a path leading from the Valugagrat cable car station eastwards to the Leutkircherhutte, a route where experienced walkers can enjoy some excellent views. Superb walks also lead westward towards Zurs and Lech.

Facilities include bars and cafes, Doctor, Chemist , Post Office, Bank, Tourist Office and there are regular Tirolean evenings featuring local folk dancing groups. Getting about the area is easy with St Anton being situated on the main railway line, giving access to Innsbruck, the capital of Tirol, and Bregenz, on Lake Constance - close to the German and Swiss borders. The dates the summer lifts operates does vary,opening first in mid June .The leisure centre and buses may not be operating prior to late June and the resort is fairly quiet at this time.
If you have time to fit in more sightseeing there here are a few more suggestions to try,so if your always after a bargain then the duty free shopping in Samnaun may take your fancy,visit the Linderhof Castle & Oberammergau,or Appenzell and Liechtenstein.You can book your excursions locally and there are reduced prices for up to 12 years inclusive.(excursions may change weekly).
