The traditionally charming alpine village of St Jean d'Arves has excellent links to Les Sybelles ski area while providing a quiet base and some great value for money activities. This picturesque resort is yet to become known on the British market, it is therefore largely uncrowded and has preserved many of the local traditions without becoming overly commercialized.
The nightlife here is relaxed and not overly lively. There is a good choice of bars and restaurants, serving delicious local cuisine and great wines. Definitely worth a visit is Paddy's bar, great for the much-needed apres ski, or L'Oule Rouge restaurant which is famous for its Savoyard dishes.
For such a small resort, St Jean d'Arves has a great variety of activities for you to sample. These include parapeting, microlite flights, dog sledding, skidoos and guided snow shoe walks, all of which are perfect to discover this beautiful area of France. Children can enjoy their own play area and an English-language cinema will show some great films during the evenings for your enjoyment.

With such great value for money, varied activities, peaceful atmosphere and a great proximity to some of France's greatest skiing areas, St Jean d'Arves is definitely a good alternative to more pricey, up market resorts in the same area.
