Less known to British skiers, St. Sorlin provides a great family escape from the hassle of more popular resorts in the area, all the while giving you access to an impressive 310 km of piste. Set at the foot of the Col de la Croix de Fer, this charming village is part of the world renowned Les Sybelles ski area, meaning that the surrounding landscape is spectacular and easy to explore.
The nightlife may be low key and accentuating the peaceful nature of the surroundings, but there are plenty of restaurants and cozy bars to keep you occupied after a long day of skiing. As for other activities, the local area offers plenty to do for all the family. Why not try skidooing, dog-sledding or paragliding for even more fun in the snow? The tourist office also runs weekly entertainment programmes for your enjoyment.
The beautiful landscape can easily be explored by snowshoeing or cross country skiing. There are also plenty of marked winter paths which you can follow to discover the wonders of the Alps. There is excellent doorstep skiing available in most of the accommodation and gentle nursery slopes provide great learning opportunities for children. A local creche and its experienced stuff will happily take care of children from 3 months to 5 years. Skiing lessons are also available for children between 5 and 12 years of age.
