The sunny Italian market town of Bardonecchia combines a uniquely traditional atmosphere with some excellent modern skiing. The resort hosted several events during the 2006 Winter Olympics and therefore enjoys the benefits of a new snow park and Olympic half pipe. The two challenging skiing areas are comprised of 110km of piste, famous for their practically nonexistent lift queues,and are interlinked by a free shuttle bus, ensuring that you can make the most out of your stay. Cross-country skiing and a ski school to improve your abilities are also available.
The town's apres ski is largely lively and informal. There is a wide range of bars and cafes with different atmospheres available in the town center and a playtime disco on friday and saturdays, allowing you to dance the night away. The multitude of restaurants serve both traditional Italian cuisine and international specialities.
A much desirable destination for skiers and non-skiers alike, Bardonecchia is also home to a variety of relaxing activities, such as swimming, saunas, jacuzzis and fitness programmes. The resort's appeal also lies in its excellent train links and its proximity to one of Italy's most beautiful cities, Turin.
