Gardone Riviera can be found at the Northern end of the Gulf of Salo on the Western shore of Lake Garda. It is a stylish resort, with a beautifull selection of boutiques and cafes, and a leafy lake front promenade providing pretty views. Gardone benefits from a lush subtropical climate, ideal for rich plant life, due to its shelter by mountains. A walk through the famous Hruska Botanical Gardens will provide an opportunity to view the rich lush parks and plantlife. Former author Gabriele D'Annunzio and 'Il Duce', Benito Mussolini had homes in the beautifull but peculiar area of 'Il Vittoriale, which is only a short walk from the village.

* Enjoy a boat trip to the small Garda Island and visit the stunning palace, once home to the noble Gonzaga family.
* Take time out to visit the famous Il Vittoriale museum which is home to magnificent opera performances during the high season.
Getting about:
Fast hydrofoils and ferries link up the many lakeside towns, and operate all through the day. Gardone Riviera is a very good base for exploring the impressive lake.
Strollers
The area is perfect for walking, with picturesuue walks being provided by the Gardone Riviera and nearby Salo. Cypress trees, gently hills and flowering shrubs add to the experience. The Via Della Calma is a particularly beautifull and panoramic route to choose, but from San Michele there are many famous footpaths to choose from, leading to Mount Spino.
