Surrounded by some of the most spectacular views of alpine peaks, the Italian ski resort of Pila takes up a lovely sunny spot above the Aosta valley. Overlooking famouns mounts such as the Matterhorn, the Monte Rosa, the Mont Blanc and the Grand St. Bernard, the resort is a wonderful skiing location for all seasons. Pila caters wonderful snow itself, but visitors are also invited to the nearby town of Aosta for a truly encompassing Italian experience. The two venues are connected by a unique gondola service which is a great way to explore the region's ancient Roman heritage.
Skiers will be delighted by Pila's varied slopes of ranging difficulty. The tender network of red and blue runs in suitable for beginners and intermediates alike, while the pistes beginning from the top of the Couis lifts are well suited for more challenging descends. There is more fun in the snow to be had off the slopes. The resort provides wonderful activities such as ice skating, snow-shoeing, saunas and solarium. Torchlight descends, a snow park and a half pipe are also available for those, looking to add some spice to their skiing.
Pila boasts a typically-Italian nightlife. There are plenty of bars and traditional cafes in the area, as well as an Irish pub and a club, providing perfect apres ski entertainment. The atmosphere remains relaxed and fairly peaceful during the week only to unleash a wave of fun over the weekend. The local area is plentiful in restaurants all serving excellent traditional and international cuisine at very competitive prices. 6 results were found.
