If anybody you know has visited Krakow, ask them what they thought of the city. Chances are, they, like us, consider it to be one of Europe's best kept secrets. As the former royal capital of Poland, it is a medieval city which has maintained its natural beauty to this day. It has been inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage sites, and with good reason. The city is centred around the Main Market Square with the famous Cloth Hall and bell tower. You will be able to sample some of Poland's best cuisine in one of the many charismatic cafes which line the streets of the square. You will of course also be able to take advantage of the great value for money in Poland while you are there, and who knows what bargains you will be able to pick up in the many arts and crafts centres in the city.
Krakow is a beautiful city which has something for everyone to enjoy. You will not be able to escape its fantastic culture and friendly atmosphere, not to mention its great value shopping and eating out options. We recommend experiencing the amazing architecture and taking a romantic carriage ride while you are there. Also, a visit to the Royal Castle of Wawel Hill is a must. If you are feeling energetic, try climbing the 239 steps in St Mary's Church Tower to hear the bugles play as they have done for 600 years. The views of the city will also be magnificent from such a vantage point. Finally, in order to truely relax, we recommend a laid back boat trip along the river.
