With 100 years of spa tradition and a spectacular floral promenade, Portoroz is a cosmopolitan yet traditional riviera resort. It enjoys a central location close to neighbouring Piran and Strunjan, and you can visit both using the regular bus service.
For those who prefer to travel on foot there are some magificent scenic paths framed by rosemary and lavender. Just a 2 km walk along the promenade will take you from Portoroz to Piran, where you will be able to visit an unusual fresh water late in Fiesa, or the sea-salt pans of Strunjan. At sunset the yachts in the maria are illuminated, and the beauty of the surroundings tempt many people to take a stroll. Slightly further a field there are old Istrian settlements which you will be able to explore. Padna, Kostabona, Pomjan and Gazon are all only a few kilometres inland from the coast.
During your holiday you will experience beautiful beaches framed by the clear aqua blue waters of the Adriatic Sea. You will find a wealth of coastal resorts to enjoy, filled with plenty of opportunities to experience sailing, windsurfing, cycling, crazy golf, or simply a relaxing swim.
