Portoroz is Slovenia's premier coastal resort, due to its prime position in the Adriatic, and its stunning natural scenery of olive groves, Cypress Trees and vines. The composer Giuseppe Tartini was born just around the corner from Portoroz, in the picturesque coastal village of Piran. Piran provides you with a stunning slice of history, topped off by its magnificent cathedral, twisting secret alleyways and hidden courtyards. Transport to both Piran and Portoroz is easily accessible bu busses from the nearby resort of Salinera. These resorts are unique and wonderful, each containing its own character and warm temperate climate.
Our opinion:
There are a wide range of open air activites and outdoor events, of which the Avditorij interntional festival is the most recognised. You can truly escape and soak up the warm sunshine and beautifull clear blue sea. As well as relaxing and doing very little, you can choose to do a lot, with an abundance of summer activities. These resorts are definately the Jewel of the Slovenian Adraitic.

Transport around the area:
Between Piran, Strunjan, the Port of Koper and Portoroz there are plenty of regular bus services and routes, as well as some nearby resorts in Croatia.
Strollers:
Piran and Portoroz are perfect for seafront strolls, whilst taking in the stunning views especially in the evening time where the sun set is legendary. As well as the beach strolls, try gettin back to nature with a walk through red pine woods, and the salt pans on the way to Secovlje.
Ramblers:
There is so much to be discovered; vineyards dotted around the hillsides, and excellent and challenging paths that gives you access to breathtaking Mediterranean landscape.

Why stick to one resort when you can vary your time and experience here? For a suggestion you could have 7nights in the resort of Piranat Hotel Tartini,and stay at the Hotel Kompas in Kranjska Gora.Please be aware that when you combine mountain and coastal ,you must fly via Ljubljana and stay in the coastal resort first.
