The Grupotel Playa Camp De Mar benefits from an outstanding location, with the accommodation set in a wonderfully pretty area with rugged cliffs, umbrella pines and waters that change from turquoise to aquamarine to sapphire. The fantastic sands that fringe the cove augment this beautiful setting, with the Grupotel Playa Camp De Mar standing proudly over the scene. This holiday is a Thomson favourite that guests continue to return to year after year, with a gorgeous beach and astonishing views. The hotel itself is a lovely place to stay, with a pool terrace that is scattered with sunloungers and parasols to make it a great place to sunbathe, with lovely views of the sea.
The food here is delicious; the restaurant provides a glamorous place to dine, with marble floors and starched white tablecloths. Guests can enjoy sumptuous buffets here, as well as the weekly gala dinner, theme night and Majorcan feast, making this a wonderful way to try some vibrant new flavours. The Grupotel Playa Camp De Mar also offers fabulous entertainment, including quizzes, cabarets, live music and dance bands to ensure all are kept smiling here.
There are plenty of facilities to make the most of, including tennis, boules, and the golf course in Camp de Mar, as well as a decadent spa experience in the whirlpool. Proudly part of our Thomson Gold collection, this fabulous hotel is geared towards couples, and has been carefully designed to make sure that both of you enjoy a wonderfully memorable getaway.
The accommodation overlooks the lovely bay of Camp de Mar, with restaurants, shops and bars nearby. The livelier resort of Santa Ponsa is ten kilometres away, whilst there is a regular bus service to Paguera, three kilometres away, which is a popular holiday area with sandy beaches and a promenade.

Me my husband my sister and mum arrived at the hotel around midday. We were pleasantly surprized as the coach turned off the main road and down towards the quite rersort of Camp de Mar to discover that it's well away from any main roads and only has a handful of large hotels(this being one of them!) and apartments. The view from reception area of the beach is fantastic. Initially we were not given the adjacent rooms we had requested but after requesting again this was facilitated. The views from the rooms of the beach were lovely and we were lucky enough to be opposite one of the pine trees so had shade from that to. The hotel was clean as you would expect from a 4star and the foodhall was pleasant to sit in and the wine waiters gave good service. Again- the food was the usual mix of buffet food that you would expect from 4star hotels, some evenings having more choice than others. We always found something we liked. The staff were friendly and helpful. The lobby area was a good place to chill for a while in the evenings before deciding where to go for a nightcap. The pool area was pleasant and cleaned daily. The beach was gorgeous with soft pale sand and the rocky outcrops were ideal for snorkelling which many people spent long hours doing in the crystal clear waters. My husband went quite a way out around the rocks and saw octopus, star fish and a large eel. I wasn't so brave and stayed around the shallower beach area but saw a lot of pastel coloured stripey fish. The sea was warm enough to stay in for hours at a time. The fish restaurant on the rocky outcrop is a lovely setting for a meal and is a proper traditional spanish place. There are a couple of other similar places around the beach area too although they close around 10pm but you can go out of the front of the hotel and over to the Villa Real for a late evening drink and is a very relaxed atmosphere and you will get a warm welcome from the waier there (and generous portions). There are several other restaurant/bars scattered up and down the hill of the resort. The resort caters for families and senior citizens so thankfully there is no rowdiness. There is a bakery and a well equipped shop at the top of the hill opposite hotel where you can get the usual essentials . There is also a handful of boutique shops outside the hotel (good range of clothes) and nic nacs. If you just want a really chill out week by the sea with a few walks and quite evening drinks in a gorgeous hotel then look no further.

We stayed at the hotel Camp De Mar in August this year, this was our 2nd time at a Gold Hotel, as expected you had to hand every thing you come to expect from the Gold Hotels, the area is very quiet which is good, at least you get to sleep at nights, the entertainment usually ends around 11.15, so if you want a drink in the bar, then you can.The food was excellent! usually eating two dinners every night because i couldnt choose. I didnt eat too many desserts because even I had to stop sometime. The choice was vast. Also the service is very good, from the resturant, to the ouside bar.The reps are amazing, so much energy, again if you want to join in, then its up to you, if you dont, then your not forced into anything you dont want to do.Dont be afraid to ask for a different room if your unlucky to get one on the top floor, or around the back facing the road, if they can change it for you then they will.Right, to get to the daft bit, the dreaded sunbed routine!!!!!! The door downstairs doors will not be opened untill 8.30, for cleaning purposes, so there is usually a line of people starting at the door which goes around the marble pillars and even up the stairs, so that if you like a nice spot, then unfortunately unless you line up like everyone else, then you end up with whats left, so i really wish the management would sort this problem out, as it seemed to annoy everyone, and you had to get up so early just to get a sunbed, if i was only there for a week, maybe it wouldnt have so bad, but as i was there for two weeks, it really started to bug me, all in all we had a lovely time, made lots of new friends. I would go back to this hotel, but only if they sort out the locked doors.
