Situated on the beach, the Hotel Son Matias Beach is bordered by a walkway leading to Palma Nova beach. The hotel is a brief fifty metre stroll to the nearest bars, shops and restaurants, as well as the nearest bus stop, and just over a quarter of a kilometre to the resort centre. The bus station is a kilometre away, and two waterparks can be found just a kilometre and a half from the hotel.

I had been to Son Matias over fifteen years ago when the children were able to go and had a great time then. Now my children are grown up and I have grandchildren, I wanted a child free holiday of good quality. I went to Son Matias after reading reviews and it still seemed to be good. However it was more than good! It was lovely having no children running around at meal times, and the staff were lovely especially the hard working restaurant staff, and the food was fab! Apparantly the hotel is getting refurbished at the end of season (although I don't know how they can improve an already beautiful hotel, it even has scales to weigh your cases and a shower room so you don't have to worry about late flights home).
I have now booked for June next year as I found August too hot at night, it has been extremely hot this year with 38 degrees at 7pm, but the hotel has air conditioning. At 10pm the shows start, so we headed back for that every night, although I would have liked the shows to have gone on later as they finished at midnight. We went to the bars after that, before retiring to bed. For those people thinking it might be boring, it isn't. Just a nice quality holiday with the hotel almost sitting on the beach 10 yards away, with fabulous views for a perfect relaxing holiday.

We had roast beef and yorkshire puddings twice, they were like english yorkshires and the beef melted in your mouth! Also complimentary champagne was given to everyone one night. The food was beautiful every night.
Entertainment
Very good but the main turns only went from 10pm to 11.30pm so would have liked more of that? And later entertainment.
