Engelberg is in a very sunny valley and has been a destination kept well hidden ,it is unknown to many British skiers with a very impressive 3,200m Mount Titlis dominating the area.The village is fairly large and very welcoming and has kept a traditional feel through out.It has the worlds first ever revolving cable car ,which will take you up 2kms above the village ,to the guranteed snow.Skiers of all abilities can enjoy the slopes here and can really make the most of the quiet slopes.
The Apres Ski here is superb,you can dance the night away with fantastic live music and selection of pubs and bars to try,some not to be missed is the Yucatan Music Bar,The Spindles, The Eden and the Terrasse.
You will not be disappointed with the huge variety of activites for all to try and they include Horse drawn carriage rides, snow shoeing, and the 3.5km toboggan run.If your looking for something abit more daring then try your hand at paragliding.You could take a dip in the pool and relax in the sauna, solarium and steam baths ,if your looking to wind down at the end of a hard days skiing.For the more sporty amongst you try the sports centre for badminton,curling,tennis, ice skating or a work out in the gym. Engelberg has not forgotten the walkers and there are 38km of impressive walks to enjoy and soak up the views or if you just cant get enough skiing ,then carry on in to the night or try the 36kms of cross country skiing.
For dining out you will be spoilt for choice with the variet of cuisines to enjoy from pizzas to a traditional 3 course meal, or try the delicious cakes and coffee at the Hotel Treff.

Engleberg has so much to offer and you want a day trip then there are many musuems with endless history to delve into or a train ride away is Lucerne packed with even more history.You can visit the Ice grotto in the glacier ,watch cheese making demonstrations or take a guided tour of Benedictine Monastery.
This really is a great resort and it has carefully thought about the family needs aswel,l with a swiss ski school where you can have lessons and the children are supervised from3-12years of age .The kindergarten is at no extra charge,so when lessons are over the fun continues.Engelberg Tourist Office can arrange childcare for children who dont want to ski to.
